Look for a nice used Chevy Trailblazer, you can find them all day for under 20k. Lots of room, power, great styling. I had one and loved it. My mom also has one, its now got 110,000 miles on it and is running strong. Otherwise I would look at a Pontiac Torrent. Those are verrrrrry sweet... great on gas, new model, great looking.... you could find a used 06 with 10k miles, leather, sunroof, etc for under 20k.

That depends. Do you want a real suv or do you want a subaru/hyundai/honda suv wannabe? If you're looking for a real SUV, there's plenty of used Chevys, Fords, Dodges & Toyotas that can be had for less then 20 grand.
