No, I do not think that your seven year old should be put on Abilify.

Your child needs an enormous amount of love, patience and understanding. Kindly try a healthy dose of it before surrendering to the fog inducing chemicals that turn him into a zombie.

Also consider an alternate form of therapy. Some of the universities have special classroom program that offer incredible help.

Well first off , What is the matter with a 7yr old boy that he needs abilify that's a anti-psychotic drug.I know this because I wasted 4yrs of my life on it.I would definitely be getting a second or third opion. That's a heavy drug for a child.

I started abilify at the age of 23 and it's some heavy anti-psychotic stuff. I wouldn't even think of putting a little kid on it.

No a 7 year old hould not be on a major antipsychotic medication unless you want their brain to be complete mush! They dont know what effect those drugs have on a child development. If a doctor is suggesting this be very concerned and seek a proper psychiatrist that specialises in children.

I would have to say "no-Way". I think you need to carry him to another psychriatrist. If your PCP is prescribing Abilifly you need to get another also.
That is a "psychotic" drug, and the next thing you know your child will be on "Gabitrial", Seroquel, Lexapro, and Zyprexia. Whatever condition your chlld has please seek a second, or even third opinion..The three above drugs cost me three years of my life as I cannot recall the years from 2001-2004. I was on those drugs.
I asked my psychriatrist the other day will I ever be like I was before this "quack" prescribed these medications. Her answer was, Robert you will never be like you were before. We just have to control your problems as they come along.

wow, abilify is an antipsychotic which could have edge outcomes like tardive dyskinesia and suicide probability, the two greater general in babies and little ones. i found out with regard to the drug in my pharm classification, and whilst my wide-unfold practitioner prescribed it to me i did no longer take it. it would desire to be a small probability of those edge outcomes, yet i did no longer prefer to probability it. my therapist suggested one in all her sufferers who became taking it had tardive dyskinesia and it became very important.
