ity room. the bathrm. sinks are draining poorly. when i try to unplug one the other one in the adjoining apt. fills up with water. the tub, toilet and kitchen are draining fine.where is my clog?

It sounds like each sink is draining into a common pipe. The clog is below where the two drains meet, and that's why the other is filling with water.

I don't know if you've tried some liquid drain cleaner, but that would be the first option. You might also try blocking the drain in one sink (easier if they don't have an overflow outlet) and plunging the other. Depending on how the pipes are configured, you might also try running a snake down the drain to remove the clog. Some drain systems have places which you can use to clean out the pipes. These are usually a spot where you see a threaded stopper at an angled juncture in the pipes. You can use this to insert a snake and feed it up the pipe.

Hopefully, the clog is fairly near to the sinks as this will help you in your attempts to clear it.
