lunch and put a few extra cookies in it since he has been doing his chores lately. Does anyone here ever reward their kid when they are keeping up on their chores and keeping their grades up? I know I do!!!!

It's always a good idea to reward your children for good behavior, but instead of a few extra cookies, how about a movie night at the end of the week, or a trip to the zoo? Let them pick out something that they want to do or a place they want to go, then explain to them that if they are good, get all of their chores done during the week, then they will get to do or go where they really want. I never use food as a reward, it just leads to complications later on. Always give lots of praise for work well done when they're awake. I know it's a nice surprise to find extra cookies in the lunch bag, but the reason might not be realized unless you tell him.

I get rewarded when I do. Not as much as when I was younger though because I've always been a really good student, and my parents know that I don't need to be motivated. They do reward me though
Maybe your son is too old for this but I found a computer program called My Reward Board. You can download it for free.
Have a look at the fact sheet here (www.myrewardboard.com/downloads/MRB_Fact_Sheet.pdf ) and here (www.myrewardboard.com/)

I do, but I have also found the best reward to give is just simply time its self. Ill let them pick a game or movie and either play it with them or watch it. Sometimes they pick movies wwe have, other times its off for a rental. Who cares on that one! We spend far too little time with kids now days.

Wow, yahoo really cut your question in an unfortunate place...

Reward your kids, but not only with food. Try spending extra time with him or doing something just you and him. Give him something that really shows him how much you value him, give him your time.

I dont have children yet but I do reward my nephew when he helps out around the house. Also, I'm sick and he takes really good care of me so yes, I sometimes take him shopping or we makes snacks together when he is doing good in school or helping out. We love making pies together

I make sure my sons knows that it was me who gave them the reward.... no food reward... nopey. When I give a reward I look them deep in the eyes, praise them, give a big bear hug... then I tell them what the reward is.

yeah we should reward our children for the good things however it should be done in a way it will not stay in the child's mind that every good thing, they have to be rewarded. they might be looking for that as they grow older...

It is not safe to have your son's sack lunch in his bedroom. Keep it in the refrigerator.
