Some believe he was an ordinary guy who was an extraordinary teacher and a very influential person. Some believe he was an ordinary guy who was deluded and insane. Others believe he never existed at all. I fall into the first category.

A Jewish religious figure 2000 years ago. Much of what he said was forgotten, much was modified, and some of it made it through. Study of the New Testament gospels help to discern which statements were actually Jesus words. In general, he seemed to believe that the end of the world was coming soon, that people should be kinder to one another, and that his followers would have eternal life. However, he was executed, and although several stories emerged about his rising again, they were very inconsistent, similar to other resurrection stories that were told during that era. The church grew out of his teachings, but it was primarily created outside of Judaism by St. Paul.

If they believe he truly existed, then he was the man whose followers started the Christian religion.

If they don't believe he really lived, then he is a fictional character in a very long novel filled with many other fictional characters.

I 'believe' he either did not exist or was just a person. If he existed then I think that maybe he was just a Mother Teressa type of his day and had a very good reputation, maybe being termed the 'son of god' because of it, not literally the son of a god.

There is no hard and fast archeological evidence that "Jesus Christ" ever existed. I am open to the possibility. It is hard to say one way or the other.

What is known is that there is no God and thus there is, by default, no son of God.
