My shrink put me on Prozac. It took about 6 to 8 weeks, but now half a year later, I'm a lot better than where I was.

I have a child (now 27) who is OCD. we tried everything but nothing really worked for very long. Counseling is necessary as there is no magic bullet, but he became so much better when he took Luvox. He has stopped it several times as part of the problem is he feels so low about himself (self esteem) that he hates to have to take meds to make him more "normal." It is a life long battle, but there is help out there. The links are just some of the many that address this problem on the web. Please do not get discouraged. It takes a great effort but so does anything that is worthwhile in life. Good Luck!!!

Meditate and tell yourself positive thoughts. I know that it might seem hard but it takes time.
