i believe an RFID in refridgerators would be good.
or even doors. i would welcome all ideas.

I haven't seen it on the market, so I built it myself:
All family members have a RFID tag. Anyone leaving or entering through either the main door or the garage will be counted. If the result is "zero", then -
- the heating system is lowered by 3 degrees
- all unnecessary (non-security) lights are turned off
- all doors are electrically bolted shut
- alarm system is made "hot"
The process reverses if the count result is >0
