There isn't a certain type of people who bite their nails. People who do bite their nails bite it for a few reasons. People who are scared, nervous, or anxious, bite their nails. People who quit smoking are used to having things in their mouths so they use their fingers as a substitute.

Some people are nervous, some people do have a fixation on oral. Some people bite when there is a little piece of nail hanging off.
