ALL CHILDREN GO TO HEAVEN!!!!!

I'm not a believer but, as far as I know, most religions do not treat the retarded as a special case, either way. According to the Gospels Jesus championed the sick and the disabled. He railed against the Jewish authorities who believed that these people were unholy and despised in the sight of God.

No just God could punish someone who lacked the capacity for distinguishing right from wrong. On the other hand the Christian-Jewish God punished Adam and Eve for just this failing. They did not know right from wrong until after they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. And by then it was too late. The whole thing was a set up.

Most religions are pretty vague about Heaven in any case. The Bible doesn't tell us much about it at all. In the Old Testament it is simply God's domain. There is no mention of an afterlife and the Jews still do not believe in one. It was Jesus who said there was a place for us in Heaven after we die. Every Christian has their own version of what it will be like, the common thread being a life of eternal bliss. Some would have the retarded becoming "normal" when they get there. Others would have them enjoying their own retarded bliss. Others would put them in some kind of limbo. It would just be too embarrassing having them around.

Not sure about the Muslim version of Heaven. Maybe the retarded become the virgins there.

Hey, your guess is as good as ours!

Hey, Sara
Good Question!

Retarded people live in their own heaven, and have chosen their condition for the sake of experiencing yet another aspect of their divinity. You see, we are all little parts of God, and we have all opted into this life and these experiences for an assortment of lessons of our choosing (Some of which are obvious, some not)

We agree to come into the world kinda blindfolded with what has been called the "veil of forgetfulness", which means that while we are on this plane of existence, we don't get to remember, (unless we work very hard at it...), any of the past experiences we've had (in previous lives),but our character in this life usually emulates many of our collectively learned virtues, but we do get to choose what we decide to do this time around, and we get to try to be open to our own spiritual development, so that we can someday realize that we've learned to BE in the moment...our God selves...totally. When we reach that point, we no longer have to choose to return here, either as a retarded person, a desperate housewife,a pilot, a junkie, an alcoholic, a doctor,an abused woman, a priest or anything-then we get to just hang out in the "heaven" of our understanding, and choosing- or we can continue to engage in 'Higher Learning' of a different type than we can get here. So, accept and love unconditionally as the retarded person does, (Yourself, first and most importantly-that's how we learn to love others unconditionally)) and realize that what seems like a life of hell to you or to others, is actually a piece of heaven-in their reality.
Peace
Kaye

I am not the judge. However, I should think that retarded people will go to Heaven. They are mostly innocent, like little children.
I would not worry about the soul of an innocent child or a retarded person. God is love.

No one knows the wisdom of why God created these beautiful souls the way they are. But one thing is for sure, that God did not create anyone with a purpose to perish.
These beautiful souls will be looked after by their creator, and whilst it's unfair to judge and say who goes to heaven and who won't, but one thing is for sure, there is no reason why they should not be counted amongst God's childeren in Heaven.

I hope this helps...God bless.

sure, I think so because the most determining factor about sin is it must be an act of the will. Well, if you are retarded then your will would not fully be engaged therefore lessening your responsibility.

I have not found anything in the Bible about that so far so I will just tell you what I believe: I believe that there is a special and high place for those who undergo mental difficulty on earth.
