a friend of mine put one in on me a back in the mid 90's
well that is an interresting story. apperantly an obituary generates a death notice..drivers liscense social security card..etc were revoked..talk about a pain in the a** try convincing the guys at the SS office that you are not dead. they ask for proof that you are not dead
(WELL I AM FREAKIGN STANDING HERE ARENT I)
big pain in the a** that is probally most papers only accept them from funeral homes and morgues.

LAW ENFORCEMENT DOESN'T USE THE OBITUARIES AS A TOOL. THEY ARE THERE FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY . OFTEN TIMES PEOPLE DONT LIST THEIR FULL OR LEGAL NAMES.

No, but I read the obits every day, just to see if I am in there. Then I go back to sleep.

Around here... the only persons who can submit names are funeral directors and coroners. (to stop idots from placing bogus notices, I suppose)
