The shift probably had to do with the war itself....With a crazy racist like Hitler, I am sure most of Europe had enough of nationalism and didn't want any association with it....

There was no need for nationalism after the second world war there was no great enemy. only self doubt after the loss of the india colony. no with the great migration of muslim's to the U.K the U.K has become very diverse.
The only hope for England is the SoccerHooligans.

Immigrants left the colonies to move to the "mother/fatherland", thats it, then the colonies all became "Independent" some went home, many stayed, hence "Multicutural" okay ?
