Why do people whistle? One of the staffs at my school is always whistling, it sounds good and all and even when he goes outside the classroom you can hear him whistling. is this a bad thing? why does he do it? any ideas?

Ever hear the saying whistle while you work. Not a bad thing. Just something people do. kind of like singing or humming. Its just something to pass the time away.

I think people that whistle all the time are insecure people and are putting of a front that they are happy. Deep down they are miserable and don't want to have real conversations. Whistling (all the time) keeps people from having an opening to talk to you. Whistling once in a while is different of course. But those that whistle all day every day are troubled human beings.

whistling is not a characteristic of white people.
It is a genetical heritage that makes us want to be like the birds.
Happiness and/or self securing are the psychological explanation to this behavior.
Whistling while peeing is also a very masculine behavior (joy of relief, and marking a territory)
But usually speaking, it seems that silent people are more predators than the whistling ones, who are signalling their presence to the enemy...
Think about it !
Otherwise enjoy whistling ! I like it !

He sounds like a happy fellow to be around.
I whistle or sing because I am happy, or in a good mood and makes me feel good.
It can also relieve boredom, and has been proven that singing or whistling can lift ones mood.

I whistle in places where I can't sing. I am a good whistler, and I do it without thinking most of the time, but only when I'm in a happy mood.
I know times where I have annoyed people, but I normally don't REALIZE when I do it!

Some people say its because they are happy. But there are other way's of showing they are happy. Especially if the people can't stand it when other people whistle.

My oldest brother and I both whistle. I love the sound and it relaxes me. I like to whistle in harmony

People whistle because it sounds nice, it makes them happy, and after a while it becomes a habit.

if you enjoy to whistle and must children like to whistle i think it shoild be left for children do do but adult's??? silly to hear it from a adult!!!and if you must whistle like the world can do btw if they want very easy...do it in your private homePLEASE
