Hi there...kittens are still learning and need guidelines to help them from developing bad habits such as begging at our table, which may become a nuisance if you have a friend or family over who's not fond of kitty's near human food. It's generally also advised not to encourage this habit by giving in temptation with their sweet antics, rather feed them with their own food at ground level while you're eating your meal to train them good table off manners. Also many vets will recommend to not feed pet animals human foods for two reasons: (1) it leads to obesity later in life and (2) some of our foods contain ingredients/seasonings that can be toxic to pets. Please refer to the list on this website to show which human foods to avoid feeding cats: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1399&articleid=1029
Have a little patience and remember your kitten looks to you as her new mother and she needs you create boundaries as to what is acceptable, healthy eating.

It could be that she is not getting enough of her own food. Kittens do eat a lot because they grow so fast so her food should be available most of the time.
When I got my first two kittens they loved to sample everything from my dinner plate, the mashed potatoes, scraps of the meat, applesauce and such. I finally had to use a squirt bottle on them to eat a meal in peace. I think they were just curious and it certainly didn't harm them at all to have a few samples.
So I think she will lose interest in your food and I wouldn't worry about satisfying her curiousity about what human food tastes like.

That is unusual. You must have a very adorable cat, that does not like her cat food. You did state that she likes her food, though, so ...Most cats will only eat when they are hungry. Dogs on the other hand will eat almost any time, anywhere. I would suggest finding a good vitamin for her. She may have a deficiency. I think it would be okay to give her a bite of your food, just not too much. Then she will never eat her own food.

It depends on the food. If it is like pizza and fried food then no it is not okay however Chicken and good food that is natually found in their cat food can be better because catfood is often made with the left over meat that humans won't eat. I suggest that you do some research on different diets for cats and to ask your vet on thier opinion on feed your cat human food.

My cat begs for food too, he is so cute. I give him a bite of my dinner almost every night. He has never gotten sick, he still eats his cat food, and he is not overweight. Dont give her a lot just give her a little kitty sized bite. A lot of times my cat wont even eat what I set down for him. He just paws at it and smells it and walks off, sometimes they are just curious.

No, never feed her scraps from your plate. That will just encourage her to beg. Keep some dry food in her dish for her to nibble at all times and a bowl of water. You will have to be tough and ignore her if you want her to stop.

Giving kitty a little bit of your food is ok depending on what it is, but only in moderation and only if you put it in her food bowl.
Unless you want her to bug you to death when you are are eating don't give her food from your plate. It is so hard to keep them from begging once they have learned you will give in.

Ask your vet on what sort of food cats are able to take. Sometimes when cats eat human food they get really sick.
