If a person doesn't believe in the one true God but just that there's some kind of higher power, is that person still going to Hell forever?

the principle is life for life

the God principle is blood represents life -so blood for life

Moses said "The life of the flesh is in the blood and i have given it to make atonement for your sins-no atonement means you rejected the solution from Hell.

Jesus came and paid it all now its our choice-did any other higher power come -live sinless -die for you and rise to offer you new birth and heaven? John 3 the new birth-thanks friend-david in amazing grace

Catholics beleve that no one but God knows who will go to Hell, not even the Pope. Many Protestant religions of the fundamental nature openly state that a person is going to Hell. If they have the ability to know this, they are restating their beliefs or have some supernatural powers.

Until we can disprove the existance of something other that a single God, a scientific mind must accept that there may be none as well as more than one, or even a single God in a form incomprehensible by humans. The trinity is defined as One God in Three Persons.

I don't think the form of a God is quite as important as being a good person. Statements or faith without accompanying actions in life are meaningless.

Overall, I don't know.

There are many questions in your "question!"

First of all - there is no such place as a fiery hell.
A loving God wouldn't invent such a place (1 JOHN 4:8)
The word is often mistranslated & means the common grave of mankind

The only worry you should have is whether you are pleasing to God or not & the only way you can find that out is by examining those beliefs with the scriptures.
If you see that what you believe & what you read in the bible conflict - then change.
God requires humble people who are willing to do this.
The choice is yours

When I was a young boy, it was a Mortal Sin to eat meat on Friday. So if you had a Hot Dog and didn't confess this "SIN", the Catholic Church claimed that you burned in hell forever. Decades later they changed church law and said that it was OK. No more burning in hell for meat on Fri. I thought, "Imagine the millions of souls who suffered in hell due to Friday's Pepperoni Pizza and now they say,"Never Mind"., it's OK" Hell is a creation of man. There is no proof (other than someone said so) that hell exists. Too many people are punished, some killed for a belief. Religions always tell us that they are God's true religion. God has never declared what his favorite religion is. Be comfortable with your belief.

Stay on your search for this higher power, please...
i want to share a poem written by Kathleen Norris.( author of the award winning CLOISTER WALK....she decided one day to search through the four Gospels to sift out a set of imperatives that might be juxtaposed to the commandments of the Old Testament. The result was a poem published under the title "Imperatives":

"Look at the birds
Consider the lilies
Drink ye all of it
Ask
Seek
Knock
Enter by the narrow gate

"Do not be anxious
Judge not; do not give dogs
what is holy
Go: be it done for you
Do not be afraid
Maiden, arise
Young man, I say arise

"Stretch out your hand
Stand up, be still

"Rise, let us be going....
Love
Forgive
Remember me."

God is patient and kind....stay on your search...God Bless

Exactly who did you think that higher power was?

That higher power is God. But the question really is, the day you figured out there was really a higher power, did it change your life? Do you now live according to that knowledge?

You must really believe, repent, and accept him as your personal Lord and Savior, you cant just believe in a higher power and think you'll go to heaven. God Bless.

Christianity is unique out of all religions and philosophies. It is based on the sacrifice of another, saying there is nothing you can do to reconcile yourself to God but accept what Yeshua has already done. All the rest including Judaism are works based and are mans attempt to reconcile himself with God.

Christianity draws a line in the sand with this statement by Yeshua himself:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

That's a hard question to answer. It doesn't seem quite right that someone that acknowledges some kind of higher power, and is an overall good person, would spend eternity in torment.

But hey, what do I know. And really, what does anyone else know, too? Does anyone really know for sure what happens after we pass away?

Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

" I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me".- Jesus

" I am the resurrection and the life; he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live ; and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die". - Jesus (Jn. 11:25)

" Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12)

" God is patient and longsuffering, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance".
God Bless You! And Happy Eternity!
