Personally is not the case. I'm in love with my better half. But what we do see is other people that are in love for being in love, not for the feeling of love, and on that point I do agree.

There is a fine line between love and physical attraction, most people feel that they are in love, when it might be more of a lust.
True love takes time, energy and comittment to build, develop and keep it going... Love is rare, but so worth the search! It is not just about seeing a handsome man, or gorgeous girl... it's not just about dating or sex, which back in the good ole days, was called making love... but that was with a monogamous relationship, which I'm not sure, but I feel that it is much more of a rare commodity. There are many ways to show and express love, but one that is so important in our day and time now is to remain a faithful companion to our spouse. It is showing that person we love that mean more to us than anything else in the world. They are the #1 priority in our lives, and we would do anything for them! That is what love is all about... but there is more... love for our parents, children, siblings, extended family, neighbors, community, and it goes to people all over the world. Unconditional love is to love... no matter what happens! That is what we should have for each other!

Very much agreed. People seem to think of love as an emotion, when it's actually a choice. Emotions change, but love doesn't. It is a deliberate act of giving of yourself to someone else, selflessly, without asking anything in return. Love can produce emotions, such as affection, but love is something so much more.

But nowadays, it's all about our feelings, and how we feel at the moment, and following our heart. Emotions are wonderful, but they were never meant to lead us, because they are much too fickle. They are meant to be channled and controled, which seems to be a lost art.

Real love is not fickle, and it's not about always having good feelings. It's now about you, but about what you can do for someone else.

This is why I've started to plan to grow things like my own vanilla beans in a greenhouse. Too many people, not enough space, and also stupidity. (The ginseng thing, for example, is completely an artificial problem. It's going to end up extinct in the wild from stupid people.)

Real love has always been rare. What people do these days is based on a feeling of infatuation and of course much is influenced by the media.

This world is getting harder for people to live let alone make time for love. It took me 3 yrs and many many dates to find my soulmate. Look at the divorce rate, I've been there. People are afraid to make that connection.

i think that people become in love with the idea of being in love. they don't realize that the initial feeling does wan once a couple has been together for a while. lust and fluttering feelings turn into comfort and stability......but most relationships now don't even get to that part. people get bored and move on. their loss.
