If you look down upon the brake lever, inside you will see a small metal pin with a hole in it. This pin will rotate inside the lever. If you look closely you will see there is a slot in one side of it. You need to free up enough of inner brake cable from the brake caliper ( the bit on the frame that squeezes against the wheel rim) and feed it down through the hole in the top of the lever hood and into the lever lever itself past the pin. When you have enough to allow the nipple on the end of the cable to pass the pin, rotate the pin until the slot lets you put the cable through it. Then, pull the cable back and it will seat itself into the female side of the pin. Make sure you have the pin rotated so that the female recess which will receive the nipple on the end of the cable is down. Otherwise it won't keep the cable in place.
You can now pull the cable back through the retaining bolt at the caliper and tighten it.
You will no doubt have to tweak the break to bet it to work well. There are several ways to adjust the slack.
This is very long winded I know. But it's hard to describe without being able to show you.
I suggest you take the opportunity to take your bike to a good shop and ask to watch the mechanic fine tune the brake.
It's not worth taking a chance and risking injury.

The knobed end of the wire cable goes in the topside swivel fitting on the lever. Look at lefthand side lever for clues. You'll have too loosen the cable at the brake end to give more slack to reattach the cable to the lever. Good luck!

Hi. Loosen the adjustment at the caliper until the end stop can reach the engagement hole on the actuator.
