I used to go to church every sunday and pray everyday. I used to be a good Christian, but now I fell like God has been taken away from me. I'm doing bad things, not attending church, and not asking for forgiveness. I want to pray and talk to God but I'm afraid it has been too long and it is too late. What should I do?

It's NEVER too late to turn back. The farther you fall, though, the farther you have to come back. But don't let that discourage you! God is never taken away from you - he is always with you, but you can separate yourself from him.
The first step toward reconciliation with God is sincere compunction: admitting you have done wrong and making a firm resolve not to do it again. After that point, it's an uphill battle; you may fail, but if you take your sins to the confessional and resolve anew every time, then eventually, with the grace of God, you will progress quicker and quicker. Every day is a battle, but with God's help you can win. Pray to God and ask the saints to intercede for you. Some of the greatest saints began at the lowest, most dirty positions in society.
And remember, it all starts with the little sins - avoid those, and you keep yourself out of the way of the mortal ones.

Going to church doesnt save you; It's just a too to help you find your walk with Christ.

And you can pray anywhere, as long as what you say to God comes from your heart and you mean it, and believe Christ will answer, you can pray anywhere.God is not limited by time, place, or people; the only thing that limits Him, is the amount of faith you have, and how much you pray.

So just get your prayer life going an d read God's word (The Bible), you'll be alright.

God Bless

Willing sin is like a sandpaper that rubs away our sensitivity to God. This is what David meant in Ps. 51 after he sinned with Bathsheba, "RESTORE unto me your Holy Spirit and take not away the joy of my salvation."
It is never too long, but it can be too late for none of us know our own hour or God's coming hour. Get thee back to church, my friend.
Oh - and about being afraid to pray, not to worry. God never stopped listening even when you stopped talking.

It is never too late to ask for forgiveness as long as you are still alive. I am reminded of the parable of the prodigal son who took his inheritance and squandered it, but when he went back home, his father ran out to meet him with open arms. As a Christian who has backslid you probably know God's love and this story, but I would encourage you to read it again and ask God for forgiveness as soon as possible!

God Bless.

Listen to the whisper. If you're Catholic, get to confession. Ask Mary and the Saints as well as the rest of us here on the Q&A to pray for you. Get back to Church. Occupy your time by reading and listening to scripture and teachings. Why be afraid of crawling back in to your Father's arms? That is where He wants you anyway!

You are in my prayers.

God Bless

This was one of my problems with organized religion. It makes you feel so guilty about the mistakes it knows you're going to make. Don't worry about it. God already knows what you've done and he's seen MUCH worse. Put yourself in his place for a minute. Would you want your child to stop talking to you because she made a mistake? Or, would you prefer that she opened up and talked it over with you and re-established the relationship?

The prodigal son left his father and everything else behind. He wasted his substance on riotous living. When he came to his senses and decided to go home, lo and behold his father ran to him and kissed him and welcomed him home. You are the prodigal son(one of many), God is waiting, wanting you to come back, willing for you to talk to him. He is not like the friendships of this world. He is willing to forget your transgressions if you will ask.

Don't blame anyone else. You are the one who has walked away from God and now you are the one who is going to have to change. You know what you are doing wrong, now you need to make the changes that are needed to make things right.
