All depends on if your breastfeeding or formula feeding. IF your breastfeeding then it can take some time, as well as if your formula feeding too. Usually after your 6 week appt, the doctor will put you on some type of birth control, to help you start. But just remember every woman is different.

It varies with each baby. With my first son, I was back on my regular cycle when he was only seven weeks old. With my second son, though, I didn't menstruate for five months. It's about your hormones, though, and I got my tubes tied, so that could affect it, I suppose. Also, if you were given any form of birth control at your six week check-up, that would alter your hormone levels as well. Sorry there isn't a clear answer here, but it is different for every person every time... Good luck, and congratulations on the baby!!! ♥ ♥

It can start the very next month or it can be delayed until after you finish breastfeeding. Every woman's cycle is different. I was breastfeeding for 16 months and I got my period once when my daughter was sick and stopped eating for a few days and then I didn't get it again until she was starting to drink whole milk and I weaned her. If you are concerned about birth control, doctor's say that you should never have unprotected sex because you could get pregnant at any time. They even say that you can get pregnant before you get your period again...so be extra careful!

that depends on the female, after I gave birth, I bled for like 6 weeks straight, then, I went immediately back to my normal cycle, if it's been a long time and you haven't had a cycle, you should contact your doctor immediately, I had that happen to me one time and they had to remove a 10 lb cystic mass from me, turns out I was having a period, but my system was clogged or something, I don't know, I can't remember the exact words the DR used to explain it to me.

With my first baby it took 13 months, just after I quit breastfeeding, with my second I had one just after my six weeks but not since then, probably cause Im breastfeeding. If your breastfeeding then your good to go. Formula feeding, then honestly I dont know, probably shortly after your six week marker.

every one is indeed different, while most women do get their period after they stop breast feeding, it is certainly possible to get pregnant while breast feeding. my two daughters are 11 months apart!!! anyway, i have friends who got their priod months after, and i usually get my period about a month after the post baby bleeding period. except of course after my first daughter, i didn't ever get my period, got pregnant!
