why shouldn't people be able to smoke in public places?

i don't smoke, i just want to know a couple more things.(i'm only 11)

Research is finding that second hand smoke is just as bad, if not worse, than smoking yourself. People are getting lung cancer and have never smoked a day in their lives. Basically, it's out of respect for everyone else around you.

cause there r people who don't want to deal with the smoke in their face or the smell of cigarettes as they eat or work or whatever they're doing while being out.

cause there r people who don't want 2nd hand smoke that might cause them lung cancer.

cause there r people who have asthma and the smoke makes it extremely difficult to breath.

for example--imagine u're eating out and someone takes a pile of dirt and ashes and dumps it right on ur plate. would u still eat that food with the dirt and ashes all over it? smoking is basically doing that same thing to other people who don't smoke.

No one should have to suffer the effects of second hand smoke,which causes cancer for the same reason you should not be able to go on a killing spree in public ...just does not make sense

For decades, smokers have tossed the "if you don't like it stay home" attitude in our faces. Well, now it's our turn! I love the new smoking bans here, even if our weenie representatives scale them back out of fear. Let 'em stay home or have to smoke 40yards out by the dumpster. Now I get to go out and have fun--no hives, inhalers, reactions, or worries about a bad attack. Breathing is a right, not a choice!

Because second hand smoke is dangerous. People who don't smoke are starting to get lung cancer. I don't want to get lung cancer. That is why you shouldn't smoke in public places.

because people dont wanna smell like cigarettes and anyway then the fumes might be smelled by a kid and then other people would want to do it and ok its just bad to inhale smoke its gross. i might sound like a goodie too too shoes but smoking is rediculous you can die from it and you could get cancer so if i were you i would try to stop

B/c the 2nd hand smoke stinks, and my children should not have to inhale it. People who smoke do it as an choice, when my Kids and I have to inhale it, It's a choice your making for us and it's not fair.

Because it has been determined for sure that smoking is the cause of many diseases, and that second hand smoke for the people breathing around you will cause cancer of the lungs.

I don't want lung cancer from your smoke. Fine if you want to smoke and get lung cancer but don't do it around people who don't want all of the effects of smoking.
