It would help if you said where you live. Most university hospitals have clinics and treat poor people who do not have health insurance at no cost. Look in the phone book and make a few calls to see what is available in your area.

You could also call United Way to see if they know of any health facilities available to help them get free medical care. Best wishes.

TB is a state health concern, if they have a diagnosed case the state dept. of health should have already been in contact. T.B. can become a epidimic. Go to a county hospital, but how do they know for certain he has it??

TB is horribly contagious. Incredibly. Left untreated, everyone living w/ the patient (are you listening?) will be exposed to it, and get it. If the guy dies from TB, he won't be the only one.

I'm betting Dollars to Donuts that if you walk into your local public health office, and tell them that you've got a TB patient that isn't taking drugs, you'll see them reach for the RED PHONE (you know, the Bat Phone, the Hot Line, etc?) and start a massive testing and treatment program.

She should visit the local health department. They can refer her to help. Some pharmaceutical companies will give free medications to those in dire need. Medicaid could be an option. I don't know how old either party is. But visit with the health dept. to get started

Hi...........rex..........
I am happy to know your concern about the problem of a poor family in need, specially when there is no body to help them out.Hope my small answer may give you sufficient courage & strength to be with this family during their serious crises.
As it is clear that your med is to come out of home for earning livelyhood for her family as well as for meeting expenditure of medicin for husband.
AS you know that T.B. is a communicable deises and needs consistent & prolonged treatment.I suggest you to plan like follows-------------
1. First list out the availability of State run,PSU run,Local body run,Cherity run,free/susidised treatment center around your city or village.
2.Take the paitiant there and find out exact kind / type of T.B. he is suffering with. The required checks are possible to be done free of cost at these places as a measure to irredicate this desease.
3.Now comes the medicine, which may be arranged from-
a) the same hospital / dispensary.
b) many PSU running such program as a measure of social obligation.
c) contact your family doctor / other renound doctor in your locality, they may help with the adress of varrious company representative having available with sample medicine for doctors.
4. Now comes care of the patiant and care of the rest of family member. This may be in line with advise of hospital

Most hospitals offer free clinics for families with limited means, also I believe with T.B. since it can spread easily they help those patients first, at little or maybe no cost? Check with your local hospital.

If her husband has untreated TB and she is working in your house, now you are probably infected also and anyone you come in contact with will also be infected. You all need to be quarantined and treated immediately before you start a plague in your town!
