Arising from the same primordial semolina-water-egg dough, macaroni and spaghetti share a signified sameness. Their disparate shapes, however, have lead each pasta-being towards a sense of subjecthood, ergo, spaghetti sees macaroni as the "other." In the space-time continuum, macaroni and spaghetti are different, yet their differences are insignificant when compared to their sameness, thus deconstructing the difference between spaghetti and macaroni.
Spaghetti goes well with tomato sauce, by the way, with lots of mushrooms. And macaroni was meant to be coated in velvety cheddar sauce. MMM.

Both are pasta, just in different shape. As for mythology, I've heard talk of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, but haven't heard anything about Macaroni.

They grow from the same family of trees. Spaghetti from the Pastathinstandus and Macaroni from the Hollowpastius.

Spaghetti and macaroni are the same thing. They're just shaped different. Sort of like hot dogs and bologna. Same thing. Different shapes.
