black tan coloring is a dachshund. make the the dog more protective?

Coloring does not have anything to do with if a dog will be more protective or not. Dachshunds are very protective of their "people" and are amazingly loyal. My husbands family raised many dachshunds and they were all protective and loving. Have a good night!

The physical coloring of a dog has nothing to do with it's personality. Most dachsund's are naturally protective of their owners and family but if they're socialized properly will also be good with other people.

dogs temperament usually follow their environment. some dogs will go back to their more basic instincts of a vicious killer like a wolf, Rottweiler,pit bull.
