Until you can get to the vet to buy a flea product (ie frontline, revolution, advantage), you can wash your little kitty in Dawn dishsoap. Make sure to completely rinse all of the soap out. This is only a quick fix because as soon as you put her back in a flea infested area, the fleas will infest her again.

petmeds.com has some special flea treatments for kittens that are too young for those harsh flea meds like collars and other over-the-counter treatments. I had a little male kitten that lost his mom at only 4 weeks and I bottle fed him and he got infested with fleas it made me cry when I would try to wash them off. You cannot use meds on kittens it can kill them. I bought a special spray at PetCo it is all natural and safe on all ages. You can spray it on the cat rub it until it's a bit soapy and rinse w/ warm water. Also, spray the carpet, bed, sofas and other places where the kitten is. You can do it as many times as you want on the kitten since it's all natural and safe. Try going to PetCo and ask someone for an all natural flea repellent for kittens under age, they will definitely help you. That should work, it worked for my cat and he is healthy and all better now. Good luck!

You can use Advantage or a similar treatment on your kittie and check out
Flea Busters on the internet or you may be able to get the stuff from a local pet store like Petsmart or Petco. It is a powder you sprinkle in the carpet and work into the fibers with a broom. We have used it for several years and you usually only need to do a treatment once a year, or even less if your cats are indoor cats.

If the kitten is less than 2 months, do not give it frontline. One of my friends did it and their kitty got really sick. Some other people have probably said this already, but try to get it to a vet. Until then, if you have a flea comb, just give it a good flea combing - the kitchen is probably the best place to do this.

Why don't you go get some flea stuff to put on your kitty like Frontline(no collars and no Hartz products)...and is 'it' a boy or a girl??
By the way you won't get 'infected' by fleas.
Just sprinkle salt on your carpets and the fleas and eggs that fall off if they do will dry up...then vaccum tomorrow night.
Don't throw your kitty outside because you didn't get it treated for fleas to begin with....

Put your kitten in the bathroom, wash all you clothes bed linnen and any other things your kitten has come in contact with. Use very hot water. Get some advantage or frontline and put this on your kitten to kill the fleas and even consider flea bombing your house.
