I have had two male calicos and I have a miniature female calico. (she is two years old, but looks like she is about 5 months old)
The boys don't usually live for very long.....some kind of defect in them. I hope yours does. Since mine didn't live for very long I can't say whether or not they are more moody or just as moody as the females. My female is very very mellow...
The only reason people want to buy male calicos is to disect them..so please don't let any lunatics know you have a male calico...they don't give you much money anyway..it isn't worth it.

i have had a calico in the past and have a tortie now. as for attitute..... i think of it more as....personality lol. both mine were the most LOVING cats i've had ( well maybe other than my oriental shorthair male... who is just FRANTIC for attention!!!) my experience has been that they are extremely loving, but can have quirks, or attitude in certain situations... like my calico used to attack our heads if we laughed in a high pitch or whistled! lol
my tortie now is so great with me, she gives me kisses and is a real mommas girl, and she loves meeting new ppl... but she has an opinion about everything and everyone is entitled to her opinion! she tends to be very vocal and will growl or hiss readily... but there is never any action that goes with it! like, when my mom goes ot put her in her room, she will growl and hiss the whole we down, but won't swat or bite or anything...she just wants to let her know that she is NOT impressed by this behaviour LOL also, she loves to play with my male, and often initiates the crazy races around the house, but he isn't allowed to catch her, cuz then she will turn and hiss and carry on, but won't hit him. and then as soon as he walks away, she's chasing him again! lol and she has mastered the look of disgust!!! if she is on someone, and they light a cigarette, she will look them right in the eyes with the most disgusted look on her face, and then get down. she gives this look to the dog too, and if u cal her and then pat where u want her to come.... u get the look and she will refuse, how DARE u pat at her!!!! so she'll wait until u ignore her and then come, cuz it was HER idea! i love her, she my little "freak"

Trust me they are most likely to be the same as a calico cat. I have a girl calico cat and boy is she moody so they can't be as moody as girls or either they are more moody as girls. It depends what he is like now.

I have a female calico cat and she is not moody! She's a sweetie to me and sleeps with me every night. She does like to be alone though. Good luck with your new baby!

I think you shouldn't be too quick to judge a cat by its color. I have never met a mean calico, though my sister owns a tortie, and she's sweet, but kind of dainty and stand-offish. She never bites, but she gets mad if you pet her and your hand gets in front of her eyes (she's a little weird).
By the way, I'd also never heard of a male calico.

Though it does happen it isn't very often. I do know that they are sterile at birth and unable to reproduce. How old is this cat and has a veterinarian told you it is for certain a male?
BTW, they aren't really worth anymore $ than a female because they can't reproduce and therefore just make great pet cats.

I don't think it matters the colors, while females can be real loving, male cats are more often the ones that want to smother you with love. All the girls we have had over the years have had more of an attitude then the males.

My female calico was very bad. She scratched up all my furniture and peed everywhere. No one was allowed to touch her but me. Calicos are crazy mixed up cats in more ways than their colors. Your cat is very valuable.

Wow!! One in a million. I've seen one in my career. Your very luck.
As for moody.. I'm not sure. Perhaps your cat is a little snooty being one in a million and all.
All male cats who are not nuetered can be moody.
Good luck
