Ick, I've always hated ashy colors. They never come out right green and gray, not flattering. Try using a diff color with a red or gold base instead of an ash. If you already have yellows or gold in your hair use red if you have red or copper tones use gold. It will come out 10x's better. Hope I helped hun, Good Luck!

I take it you have natural dark hair? Hair color works in levels. For instance, say your hair is very dark & you want to be a med brown. If the color you purchase will only take you down 2 levels & you needed 4 levels to get that dark ash blonde that was on the box, you end up with a freaky color. I assume this was a permanent color you used. Now, if you do have natural dark hair & you did try to go down to many levels you need to go back up. In other words, Split it in the middle. Go buy the next color up that would be darker and DON'T get ash. Just color 1 or 2 levels darker. Need I say, you could go see a pro. If you just can't afford that, find a beauty school. A instructor will guide the student to fix your color.

Well, first let me tell you that doing your eyebrows is not a good idea, if any gets into your eyes you could become blind!! As for the roots, expect every 3-6 weeks, depending on the rate of your hair growth. Once you start the coloring thing, you will find your hair can get very dry and need to take extra care to keep it in good condition. I have colored by hair for years, and it is a pain...Go to a professional salon and get opinions before you do anything.

any hair color with ash in the description will be greyish. to warm it up a bit you could try one of the temporary rinses with golden in the color description.
