With medical problems you can petition the courts to open your records and get the information you need. With this condition it may happen. Otherwise it is nearly impossible to get your information on medical or family history. Adoption records in most states are sealed. I filled out a medical sheet when I gave my son up in 1968. When he was about 5 a new medical problem came up and I added it to his file. His social worker who handled the adoption passed it on to his parents. You may try the courts to see what paper work was filed, or maybe your (adopted) parents have that information. I found my son in 97 and filled him in on his medical, genetic and family history. He too was looking 'just for medical' and found another family. Just be prepared for anything. Some birth parents are NOT open to contact of any kind. With a life threatening condition you need to know and most courts will open the records for you. I'm glad I found my son. He had issues that only I could help with. He was prone to all sorts of things, cancer, diabetes, kidney disease and bi-polar. IT is so important to know your medical if nothing else.
Good luck

Wisconsin Catholic Charities offers Adoption Records Search in collaboration with the Wisconsin Adoption Records Search Program. Here is their website: http://www.gbdioc.org/pg/charitiesAdoption.tpl#adoption

your best bet is to go there and try.. i know that in some instances the birth parents can put in the file that if teh child has a medical need to contact the parents they can be.. just give them a call or stop in never know until you try..

Good Luck and Best Wishes :)
