I might be jaded or something, but I'm skeptical of new relationships. I'm scared people are just out to use me for whatever purposes...it's happened before. any advice?

I think you are right to think that way only because the world today is full of people who don't think anything about using anyone from their parents to anyone...I mean it. it is like whatever I can get out of someone...good for me. So, no, you are right. be cautious and let people prove themselves to you. It takes a while to see the true character of anyone. We all try to put our best foot forward and some of us are good people and some of us aren't but just pretend to be. The true colors come out eventually. so, be cautious and then over time you will know what the person is really like. A good indication is by the way they treat their mothers, family members and other people around them. don't go by what they tell you but more from what you see from the other people and what they say about the person. Also, I always ask God to show me someones true colors and it works, sometimes it hurts but it's better in the long run. good luck.

So just try again.
You shouldvve thanked the person that used you because you learned from your mistakes which now make you smarter and stronger relationship wise

The people you need to surround yourself with are the ones who crave your friendship. If you find yourself giving and giving to someone, beware. there are a lot of users out there. My best friends are the ones who love to be around me and I love being around them.

yes, be alone for a while, that is my advice. You will only be suspicious of everyone until you get over it.
