"But if someone's work is burned up, that one will suffer loss; the person will be saved, but only as through fire." (1 Cor 3:15)

"So that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." (1 Pet 1:7)

Are you perfect now? Most people would say no.

Will you be perfect in heaven? Most people believe yes.

Purgatory (or purgation) isn't really a place. It is the process of God's love changing our imperfect selves into perfect beings.

Depending on the amount of change needed by different people, this can be an easy or slightly harder process.

Everyone in purgatory is on his or her way to heaven.

I do not think Mother Teresa of Calcutta had a very hard time of it.

With love in Christ.

You are right. Purgatory was something they made up in the middle ages. The Blood of Christ is sufficient to purge away our sins and make us clean. The idea of something else, like Purgatory, being nessisary, is an insult to the perfect work of Christ on the Cross.

Purgatory is a spiritual state. Yes Christ's blood purges us, and one of the ways He uses that blood is through Purgatory.

Purgatory is down the road about 30 miles, take a left by the light (next to the Big ole Git & Go sign) then down to the big yellow building, take a left and go one block - it's to the right. Park in the back.

Remember in the Bible where Jesus tells them to go into Outer Darkness?
I have been Studying this off and on, and I think Outer Darkness is were the Children of GOD (some of them) go to get their Thinking Straightened Out so they can Enjoy the Presence of GOD on Planet Heaven MORE.
It is not really a Punishment just a Renewing of the Mind---and it Probably Hurts too!
This is were I am at in My Study of Outer Darkness (Purgatory?).

Purgatory was something made up by the Catholic Church. You can read all throughout the Bible and you won't find it. If purgatory existed, it would nullify Christ's sacrifice for us on the cross!

Purgatory is the place of purification for those souls who passed judgement but were not pure enough to enter heaven due to minor sins...

Purgatory is a completely unscriptural teaching, taught by false religions, and is supposed to refer to a "place" between here and heaven where people's souls are to wait before the decision is made for them to go to heaven or hell.

Again, this is a completely unscriptural teaching.

I think of purgatory as a place in heaven that is so far from God you can bearly see him. Because the closer to God you are the better person you were.

It is out three miles past the naval base on your left. Look for the gravel driveway. Call a head to get a reservation.
