What explanation do you have for the creatures in nature that are predatory (sharks, jellyfish, bioluminescent fish in the trenches of the ocean, etc) or those who are nothing but nuisances (fleas, flies, mosquitos, etc)? Were they "good" prior to the fall? Or were they created after the fall with those bad intentions as a way of saying "you sinned so you will have to deal with these things as well"?

I've always been curious as to what their purposes are.

They are part of God's nature.Mosquitos may be bad to us but to a trout they are dinner.Sharks and others are bad to us but they keep the fish population under control as the sucker fish attached to the shark are keeping his parasites under control as the owl and the hawk keep the mice under control. It's relative to the situation. If the Jellyfish didn't eat krill and plankton, the ocean would soon suffocate, you see? That's why it's OK for us to keep deer populations under control etc.A lot of creatures developed after the flood, some for bad(to us) like the wolf and some good like dogs, both from the same critter.

Adam didn't commit the First Sin when he ate from the Tree.

Satan committed the First Sin and was Kicked out of Heaven, all the way to the Earth, where he Promptly Messed it up.
This was BEFOR Adam was Created. Where he Promptly messed it up Again.

Good and evil don't really exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them. They are only judgements passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.

Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.

To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.

Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.

This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.

Death was given us in order to limit the consequences of sin. When sin came in, God had to create (or allow Satan to genetically engineer) new ecosystems. Same with after the flood. Things got so complicated! Not to mention, unhappy! Surely He can hardly wait to make everything benign again! (Isaiah 11, Isaiah 65)
