The Jews gave Christians the Old Testament.

Early Catholic Christians both wrote and assembled the New Testament. Although they did not call themselves Catholic until about 107 A.D., when the term appears in the writings of St. Ignatius of Antioch.

With love in Christ.

No. God gave us the Bible. But good old Constantine made up a lot of things to gain followings. Do not associate the Bible with Catholicism or any other denomination. Jesus wasn't a Lutheran, Babtist, Calvinist, or Catholic. Read you're Bible. Men wrote down God breathed words, which is how we have the Bible.

By the way. Peter was NOT a Catholic. It would have sounded nice if he was, but claiming so is purely wishful thinking.

Actually the hebrews gave us the first part then the first church fathers gave us the Gospels and the last part...and yes they were all catholics...we are the only religion that can trace its line right back to Jesus.

Yes and No. People way long ago wrote it. Christian (Which Catholics are) is the faith. Jesus is the reason.

Stop your Catholic hate questions and get the right facts first.

No! The OT was given, by God, to the Jews to maintain and preserve. The NT was well established well before the Catholic Church even existed, and generally accepted by the true Church of God before the Catholic Church got around to deciding to put their rubber stamp of approval on the already accepted list.

If the Catholic Church gave us the Bible, then why did they spend the majority of their existance trying to keep people from reading it -- even to the point of banning it on the pain of death?

Well it wasn't Protestants and certainly not Muslims. So the Catholics make a good choice.

Yes we did in that the original Church was the Catholic Church and that we are the ones who complied it.

If you believe that the first four books of the new testament were written by the men whose names are on them, then, no. Those men hung around with Jesus. He, and they, were Jewish, not Christian (of which Catholicism is a part).
