This is a good question. The brain sometimes listens to the body and supplies the body with the food that the body requires and not what some health guru thinks is good for you. What tastes good is mostly as good for you as it tastes. The fads about food is only true if you do not over eat. Therefore, eating one well prepared beefburger and fries everyday for 30years is probably all the food you really need.

To be honest you can eat for health and it still taste good if prepared right.. This is a very fast pace world we live in and some people really just don't have time to sit down and fix a healthy meal for the family between jobs. More and more Americans are working 2 or more jobs just to pay bills and put food on the table and if that means happy meals then it's better then nothing. Our country is the cause of all of this due to they don't make sure that Americans have descent paying jobs out there with health benefits that they can afford. If this county would just take care of their own with health benefits then people just might have time to sit down and cook and good health meal that the family will enjoy. As of right now we Americans are fighting just to pay bills so we do what we have to do just to keep going..

Eating for taste doesn't mean compromising on health, I think eating junk food often is a sign of laziness, it usually tastes crap anyway and well if you are that lazy to have all your meals prepared by the golden arches, no wonder you are too lazy to excercise... hence obesity!!!!

i think you are right. i don't understand it either.
but, often junk food is cheaper. sometimes people can't afford to eat properly. some mcdonald's deals are so inexpensive that it costs less to buy the daily special than to go to the supermarket and buy something nutritious and make it at home. also, people who are strapped for time due to their hectic lifestyles don't take time to do the responsible thing and eat properly or work out. really, this is a lack of self-respect.
but overall, i don't understand the majority of people who constantly eat crap and treat their bodies like machines. its really unhealthy, and it makes life less enjoyable.

that is the way we were designed, back in the day us humans used to wander a lot so we needed all that fat...we don't need it as much anymore...the trick is balancing the taste with the healthy to make everyone have a great quality of life!

That problem is not related to eating.
Its the same reason they are driving SUVs:
They are afraid!
They even start stockpiling food, take classes in self defense and are afraid of anything they arent familiar with...

I think that a lot of people eat to deal with their emotions because they don't know of a healthier way to deal with them. And what kind of person would stuff themselves with carrot sticks because they were sad? It doesn't seem like that would do the trick.

Chips, salsa, and refried beans.. I love the taste but I know it does nothing for my health or my waist band.
