I have a litter of 8 puppies - a few of them have diarrhea almost all the time. i pick one of them up and it just starts pouring out!

they are only about 2 weeks old- only drinking mothers milk- all are basically healthy- gaining weight- one vet told me they will not have solid bm's till they start eating solid foods.
the mother is healthy- up to date on all vaccinations- and the puppies are almost ready to get thier first vaccs.
should i try a home remedy first? the mother has loose stools sometimes but i think it is because i am trying to switch to homemade dog food (i heard it is healthier) and i feel like she needs better nutrition right now

THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE POOP LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!! See a VET ASAP or you can lose the entire litter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop being in denial, or being CHEAP!! Puppies can have mushy poop, but it NEVER POURS out when you pick them up.
Diarrhea IS NOT normal!!! Either get them to a vet, or you will probably end up with little or no puppies.
If you will not treat them properly, DO NOT HAVE MORE PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And your vet is an idiot because they DO have solid poop BEFORE they eat solids. Most vets are not great at this aspect since they really do not see many at this age.
Trust all of us here that have had litters before....THIS IS NOT NORMAL!

Something is definitely wrong. Is the mother ill? Check the skin in her ears. When my lab had her litter I thought I was doing a good thing by feeding her beef and beef broth. She was allergic to beef and the inside of her ear were red. Are you feeding the puppies any solids or liquids? Don't give them milk because that will cause diarrhea. When puppies have worms sometimes it will cause loose stools. Consult a vet because you can loose puppies pretty fast from dehydration.

It could be the food, it could be something else she ate, or it could be an illness. Has she been to the vet yet?? Food has to be switched slowly for some dogs. If this was an adult dog, putting it on a bland diet (boiled chicken and rice, for example) until the loose stool stopped, then slowly introducing the new food would work. BUT - with a puppy that young, this isn't something to fool around with. Besides the fact that at 5 weeks, she was WAY too young to be taken from her mother, it's possible she could be sick. Please call your vet.

Diarrhea is a serious symptom which could indicate many different types of diseases. Such as Parvo, Giardia, etc. I could go on and on. Needless to say they all can be fatal if not addressed immediately. Most are infectious and some can live in your soil for years after the dog(s) have long since died.

DO NOT WAIT!!!! GO TO THE VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

All owners are required to provide veterinary care to prevent pain, suffering and disease transmission. In all 50 states.

My pups have always had well-formed stools from day one. There is something wrong. You need to get those puppies to a vet right away before they get dehydrated.Mothers milk is the perfect food,so the pups should have nice,well-formed stools.

It shouldn't be that bad, I would have them checked by a vet.
