I also have two indoor kitties. They have a birdfeeder with a ledge attached to the window so they can sit and enjoy. They also love ribbons, and tin-foil balls [just make sure the balls are big enough they can't swallow them] They also enjoy their laser beam. One of the new favorite toys is dollar bills crumpled up a bit. And there is the ever so popular cardboard box with little peek-out holes!
Don't let your kitties outside, they are fine inside and have a longer life span as indoor kitties.
Good luck!

Once in a while?
Letting your cat go outside once in a while can just reinforce your cat's interest in the outdoors. For many cats, the great outdoors is a bit like ice cream or any other treat. If you never have it, you won't miss it. It may not be a good idea to remind your cat of the outside and stir up the wish to go out.

My Frosty loves "cat grass" plants to chew on, little catnip pillows to chase and lick, lots of homemade pom-poms and her own spot on the bed to sleep, complete with body pillow and her own blanket.
I treat her to a can of tuna once a week and her newest toy is a waterfountain kinda thing, where the water circulates through a filter and falls down a slide. She drinks more water than ever now and once I fill up the reservoir, it's good if I am away overnight - holds a lot.
Also, she cuddles with me on the couch, on her own afghan, to stay warm and watch tv. She loves to be brushed too.

I have an in door cat and she is a Manx (tailless cat).
To keep her entertained I have a large tower type scratching post, which has a hiddy whole. I also have things hangs off a few door handles, (keeps hubby entertained too) he throws them off the door towards the cat, and she fetches it for him, and brings it back and drops it at his feet. I she does go outside when I hang the washing, and she follows me back in when finished. She loves shinny things e.g Foil to carry around, to play with and attack. Her other favourite pass time is to stalk and attack our ankles, hubby's ankles click so she really loves his ankles.
You could build an cat avery (outside and all enclosed), which has shelves for the cat to climb on. Or you could also have builder build a walk way around the house, with little wholes going into room to room, obviously you would need a type of runway for puss to climb up. They love laying up on the walk way, looking down at you.
