Like: Simple and elegant.
Don't like: A wedding that just wants to show off.

Remember, if it's about the couple and their real love for each other, it will be a beautiful wedding. If it's about just the wedding itself, it will be just more of the same meaningless crap.

The thing I like most about weddings is the joining together of a man & a woman who truly love one another, the thing or should I say things I least like are :-
The falseness of big ceremonies
The bridal shower
Hen/stag nights
Wedding themes/colours
White dresses on non virgins
Chocolate fountains
Doves/butterflies
Planning make-up/hair.

These big well planned weddings always give me the impression that the event is more important than the reason the ceremony is happening, so many girls seem to love the idea of the event more than the deep commitment they are about to undertake.
My husband & I met mid January 1999 and married ( at a cost of less than £250.00 ) in July 1999, it was the most intimate day of our lives and we know now as we knew then that it was forever.
Please don't allow yourself to be suffocated by other people's ideas of what a wedding should be like - be original but most of all be yourself.

I have been to many weddings over the years. The ones I dislike most are the ones that are too formal. You walk into a room and it's like stand up now, sit down now, eat now, dance now etc. When I married, I decided I didn't want to make my parents spend a lot of money. We hired a DJ and a hall and had a buffet prepared by friends. It was very informal and everyone had a blast. All weddings like this have been fun and memorable. It's better to have fun with your friends and family than to be bossed around by reception place staff.

I am a crafty person, so I like seeing oringinal ideas and decorations made by the couple. It makes it more personal for me. Spending less on the actual site and more on flowers or whatever you use to decorate. Just a tip~ if you're going for a fall theme, leaves are a free and easy way to decorate as well as apples, oranges, pumpkins, and other stuff like that! I love fall colors like oranges, amber hues, and a touch of red. Not too much though I think red in weddings is highly overrated. (but so is pink and our wedding colors were Pink and Gold with a touch of black. lol)

Also, good food, music, and booze always keeps 'em happy.

At my wedding and a few others I have been to there was a snack table later in the night. At about 8-9ish set up a snack table. It could be anything you like. Fruit, veggies, cheese, anything. Everyone seems to really enjoy it. While dancing, drinking, socializing you work up an appetite. By the end of the night the food will be gone. I think its a great idea personally.

I like when the wedding really reflects the couple, not what they think they should have. I hate when They take forever with pics inbetween stuff and hold everybody up. I hate when they take forever to get around to cutting the cake, lots of people only stay for that part! I hate when their is not enuf seating and you have to figure out how to eat and hold your cup and talk to people all at the same time when If you just had a place to sit you would be ok! really and truly, I would focus more on not doing stuff to make your guests grumpy b/c thats half the battle! check out this site below! it has a lot of pointers on stuff to avoid!

id say something outside it should be chilly for an Autumn wedding but have the recepton indoors and youor ceramonie outdoors. The multi colored leaves is a realy nice background for almost anything so long as it doesnt rain. Make sure you have food people love food. especialy if its stuff they dont usualy eat. i remember when i was young i pissed off a caterer cuz i drank 2 1/2 bottles of sparkerling cider just coz i never get the stuff and i like fizy drinks (they had no dr pepper or ida ben all over that) i love stupid looking brides maids gowns cuz they make me laugh when i go just to see the stupid cr*p they have to wear. i think the gnarly dresses makes the bride feel better about her self anyway.

the important thing about planning a wedding is not to think only about what makes you happy. if you have guests you should think about making them happy too so the food would be something that would make them happy. Something I dislike about weddings is when people get so drunk that they start puking all over the place and make fools out of themselves...

Weddings need to be simple, elegant, and classic - make it your most perfect day but don't go overboard. Your guests will be most happy if the food is high quality. Be sure to add your own special touches - everybody loves a unique wedding. And most of all - have FUN!!!

Hmmmm.....good question! I just got married in May and one thing we did that was a little different from other weddings I have been to is in the receiving line after the ceremony (if you're having one), we had me and my husband, and our parents, instead of having the whole bridal party. We figured the majority of guests know one set of our parents vs. anyone in the bridal party.

One thing I dislike are long ceremonies...anything longer than 20-30 minutes is too long in my opinion! lol

Good luck!
