or picks up the check every now and then that she is ALWAYS going to buy? What are the rules now? I don't want men to always buy for me, I'd like to treat on occasion, but I don't want that to be an open invitation into my wallet....WTF. And then there are the men who buy that expect "favors" in return...so what ARE the rules now? Other than that it's been a lovely f*cking Saturday night.

C20, It's not yet a relationship, it was still in the initial dating phase, very awkward. Some men feel emasculated, some men feel entitiled and until the "rules" are established there are bound to be misunderstandings so lay off. Peace.

I don't care what anyone says. The rules are common courtesy!
Period.
I have no problem letting the other side pay once in a while, while at the same time I never expect ANYTHING in return. Sometimes simply the company is delightful enough that I insist on paying. Nothing (including sex) beats a good dinner with excellent conversation and company!

If he acts like he is expecting you pay, just boldly say. "You getting this one?" From that point he will know its not always a free ride.

Any man that expects you to buy all the time is not worth wasting you time on. Any one who expect you to preform sexually just because he bought dinner is a jerk.

When you ask someone out you should pay. If you plan on paying you should say tonight my treat, I have a little extra this week. But, don't make it a habit or it will affect you relationship in a negative way.

MEN like to show they can provide for the woman in their life but they shouldn't be intimidated if you want to pay occasionally. Most good men know how to show love, kindness and respect to women particular one they care for.
