I hope no one would do that intentionally. That is just mean. The kitten needs its mother and littermates for 8 weeks!!! Otherwise they can have weird behavior problems and litterbox issues!!!

Then why did you say "taken" from its mother????????

U'll be lucky if it lives more than 2 days if u take it from its mother at 2 weeks! Ur not supposed to try to wean kittens until at least 6 weeks of age. I hope ur planning on hand bottle feeding the poor thing every couple of hours with special formula from the vet cuz thats what it'll take to give it a chance. Unless something unfortunate has happened - mother cat is dead or has rejected that particular kitten- JUST BE PATIENT-4weeks n give it a chance to grow n be taught essentials by its mum! Do u know u even have to stimulate kittens of that size urinate- they can't even do stuff like that for themselves yet! There is a damn good reason babies need their mother.

By the time the kitten is 8 weeks old, it will probably not remember her as such.

About a year and half ago, I found an 11-day-old kitten that had been abandoned in my shed. His mama hadn't been able to produce enough milk for the whole litter, so she left him to be able to better provide for the others. My husband and I took him him, loved him, kept him warm, bottle-fed him, helped him go potty, etc. He has seen the cat that gave birth to him out in the yard (no one in the neighborhood has been able to trap her. Heaven knows, we try, but she's a clever one.) and tries to chase her away through the glass door. He doesn't know who she is. As far as he's concerned, I'm his mother.

How have you come by a 2 week old kitten? Was it abandoned, orphaned or taken away from its mama intentionally? Kittens that little should never be taken away from their mothers on purpose! (If this is the case, give it back to its mother.) But if you are caring for an abandoned or orphaned kitten, you are to be commended.

Two weeks it far too early to remove a kitten from its mother. 10 weeks is the standard age.

Kittens need to be with their mother for at least 6 weeks. Otherwise you threaten their ability to survive.

Two weeks old is very young. I think kittens forget their moms shortly after someone else takes her place in feeding them and taking care of them. They are sweet and loving little characters and trust us to be good to them.

You should not ever take a kitten away that early. If you do you will have to bottle feed it for a while. Why would you want to do this ?????

not very long because you will be their and other people taking care of it like a mother so it'll probably think those people are it's mother
