We got her from the animal shelter when she was six weeks old and was very loving with my wife and I until she got to about a year old . . . from then on she's gotten meaner and meaner. She's now about a year and a half and will attack (unprovoked) my wife and I, she doesn't want to be petted, touched, or anything to do with anything. The only time she plays is when she viciously attacks and hisses at our other cat . . . is she just bad? I think we're going to take her to the vet.

How long have you had the other cat? I have eight cats myself and they are all indoor (yes it is possible) but one of mine doesn't like any of the other cats at all. She's not vicious to them, she just don't want nothing to do with them. Your cat maybe feeling the same way and acting out. I would have the vet rule out any medical conditions first of all, just like people, a medical problem can turn the nicest person into the meanest person. Good luck with your kitty, be patient with her and please don't dump her for her bad behavior.

i have a cat that keeps getting meaner too. I think it is because of the other cat. I also know someone who got a cat that was abandoned and she started our really nice, and then she just kept getting meaner. I think either these cats are just bad, or maybe they are just jealous of the other cat. I would still suggest bringing your cat to the vet to see if there is something wrong with it, or if there is anything you can do to make it nicer.

Did she ever get along with the other cat? Is the other cat female or male? Is the cat allowed outside? Lots of questions, I'd be afraid to sleep at night with a cat like that in the house, but then maybe I've seen too many horror movies.

Your concern sounds precisely like mine. My superb lovable kitty all of sudden began to get propose a pair of 365 days in the past (she is 5 now). I have not any theory why, and have taken this cat to the vet 4 or 5 cases and have consistently asked approximately this subject. i've got not got any babies, and noone 'tortures' her, so I comprehend that this subject may be extremely problematical- notably in case you have babies. that's in basic terms me and my boyfriend residing here, and that i'm homestead plenty- the cat isn't ignored or skipped over, and he or she would not chew people. besides, the suited suggestion the vet ought to furnish me became this; if there's no 'subject' or important differences at homestead, the cat in all probability a technique or the different in basic terms picked up a biting habbit. Biting habit is a discovered habit, and is confusing to break. The vet advised me the suited i'm able to do is to objective and distract her at cases she is extra in all probability to chew (for me, brushing my tooth, strolling up the stairs etc...) by using shaking a can with funds or some thing loud, or by using throwing a toy or some thing. I definitely have tried those issues, and not something has extremely helped long-term. in basic terms element that has worked- coincidently, my cat mandatory a shot of steriods for somewhat epidermis an infection- the shot worked wonders. It settled her down ordinarily, and he or she did not chew at involved in a pair of month. I asked the Vet for yet another shot months later, by way of fact it had helped the biting. He agreed that it ought to help for somewhat (I have not any theory why), yet that it isn't healthful to easily provide steriod injections. stable success

It's probably because you have another cat in the house. Cats of the same gender, male of female, or of the same kind will attack each other. You might want to watch her, though, she might turn on you. Another thing is that she might not be "just a year old." Mine is two years old and is as ornery as ever!

I can't imagine what has happened to your cat. Taking her to the vet is a good idea. I hope you find out what you can do for her.
