no. the painters do that on purpose. they paint the eyes just a certain way to make the eyes look like they follow you.

The reason why the eyes of a painting seem to follow you is because when the painter paints the picture they paint the eyes last so the white dosent smear

It's an optical illusion: if the eyes are centered (or if someone looks directly into the lens while taking a photograph) then it appears as if the eyes are following the viewer.

YES. if they look directly at the painter, than their eyes are straight ahead. if you focus your eyes on the eyes in the painting, they look at you. it is in the way the painting was done. it's normal, dont worry about it.

Really only if you're paranoid should it worry you ... they may seem to follow you, and that's normal, but they really don't.
