I have a 4 year old sheltie Charlie, he is puffy and has lots of full and everytime i groom him, about twice or 3 times a week, i get a lot of fur out of him, but he still remains puffy. my mom inherited a really old spinning wheel last year, probably about 100 years old i bet and it still works, and i was wondering, if i gave her the fur from my puppy, would she be able to make good socks and mittens and stuff? thanks in advance!

There are websites that can teach you to do that. We save our masses of Newfie hair and send them to a lady who makes scarves, mittens and hats. I also have a sweater from Newfie and Golden hair. It is a great idea. It takes a lot of patience though, which is why we send it to someone else!!!!!

Yes it can be done. If by chance you live on the Rock, you can try tracking down a group called Nonia. They have a store in St John's and I think the spinning and knitting is something they would do. They are probably also looking for recruits if your mother is interested in learning how to do the spinning on her own.
