i have been with my boyfriend for 1 month now, and and went on our second offical date yesterday. He payed for food, we held hands, shared the same straw, etc. but yet, while we were eating, he brought up that he "will take me to the Old Spagetti Factory" for our first date. I don't get it. What does he think we're doing? What does he consider a date to be?

I think by "Date", he means something really nice he could do with you. Like just getting something to eat might not be "special" in his mind. "Date" to us girls could be any time we spend as a couple, but a "Date" to a guy could mean something more official then sharing a meal. I'm sure he sees y'all as being a couple, but guys picture a "Date" as taking his girl to a nice/cool place, something romantic, and perhaps somewhere that he doesn't normally go. A date to a guy wouldn't be grabbing a snack at the local burger joint. I think it's pretty sweet that he wants to do something nice with you.

Ha ha ha, yup, he's a guy all right.
Be patient, I've found that a lot of guys are rather thick to get through. He either didn't think the question through thoroughly or has more in mind for a date... guys can be romantics too.

maybe he has a slightly different idea of a date, or he think your first date will be when he take you out. Not quite sure but i wouldnt worry about it.

He's going to take you to a place where a lot of guys go to have sex and that is what he expects to do with you. Put the pieces together. Spaghetti is referring to his penis and the factory is the place where it all happens, maybe a local motel or a dark lonely road or ......

he probably thinks that you two are just hanging out together and doesnt think its an actual date he thinks that a date should be special than that.
