There is not a chile that is unique to Calabria, tho' they grow lots of them. What is unusual is how they use them. In particular, products using peperoncini (HOT chiles).

There is a small export trade involving Calabrian chiles, as well as products made from them, I have heard. You prob need to locate a local Italian store or grocery.
