My and my Step dad were fighting(I wasn't really fighting) and then my Mom took my side. Then I guess my Dad realized he was wrong and he got pissed and didnt let me go to the show i was going to go to tomorrow.
Its so ridicoulous. My dad was making fun of me right before my mom jumped in and took my side. Then my Mom yelled at him because of how childish he was acting. Then he realized that he was wrong and started calling me a smart *** punk.

Because parents are bullies....
their parents bullied them so now they have the chance to bully their kids...

Because sometimes they take it as an insult.. people not only our parents can have such an attitude. They think people who give them comments or pieces of advice are too smart especially when they know we're too young to remind them about their shortcomings. They think that it's a slap on their faces for others to give them pieces of their thoughts.
People can say a lot of demeaning things at the peak of their rage. Eventually when they have gotten back to their logical reasoning, they will realize that they're wrong. They may not verbally apologize, but you can just feel one of these days they're sorry about what they did after all. Just give them a chance.

and this is reason # 1234934234806498983883646732348397 on why i will not remarry until my children are grown and out of the house. i dont want my love and affection for a man to be my reason for marrying a bad step dad for my kids. i'll end up with a great partner and great lover, but also with an idiot step father for my children. nope. not gonna do it.

People in general don't like to be proved wrong. It hurts their pride. But parents especially don't like it because it (they may feel) undermines their authority.
No offense, but try to be sensitive to them. If only a little.
