93/100 d’Arenberg Shiraz Viognier The Laughing Magpie 2000

The Laughing Magpie is a blend and style that has its roots in the Rhône Valley in ‘Cote Rôtie’, where viognier is grown alongside the shiraz in the vineyards and hence picked and vinified together to create a highly perfumed red wine. The '00 has an intense black cherry colour and an open peppery, meaty, sausage, chocolate, boysenberry nose streaked with blackberry jam, vanilla cream, leather and floral notes. The viognier tends to intensify and open up the aromas. Gorgeous rich, round wine with big opulent black cherry jam, orange rind, licorice, peppery, floral flavours. Very balanced and ripe with good acidity and some dry tannins to shed. Big and good value. Definitely worth trying and then laying away for a few years.

89/100 Pacific Rim Riesling 2003

This may be the best Pac Rim Riesling yet from Bonny Doon obviously the fruit is benefiting from its sexy looking, pink screwcap closure. Not only does Bonny Doon get the screwcap concept; they get design too - these caps look great but I digress. I love the nose it actually reminds me a bit of Ernie Loosen's Washington riesling Eroica. The added Mosel juice from the hyper ripe 2003 vintage gives the '03 Pac Rim a new look with more peachy fruit and a richer honey clover character that is in many of the Mosel rieslings we tasted this year. Bonny Doon suggests you pair this with "anything with lemon grass, Szechwan stir-fry, Thai Cilantro-lime curries and we could agree more.

every week they sell something different till they run out, its cheap good wine and some times cheap cheap wine. The sell to most states and its always $5 S/H and sometimes there is free S/H

most of the time you have to buy a package of 3 or 4 diffident wines at the same time any where from $20 to $50 for 3-4 bottles
