It's usually the sports teams that benefit from coke and snack sales. Here in KY they have taken from the schools. It sucks, because when I was in school, if it wasn't for cokes and snacks, I wouldn't have had lunch. (There were 500 kids trying to get lunch and eat it within 20 mins and get back to class. I never could do that!)

I don't even think that they should be selling junk food in the schools. At least the younger schools. I think that by the time they are in high school, they know enough about eating and what choices to make that I don't think 1 vending machine with candy bars and that sort of thing would be okay.

NO WAY! The children of our society need to be HEALTHIER!!! Why should a school be rewarded and recognized if they are futuristically killing our newest generation?!?!?! And giving them financial benefits would make other school switch simply because they need the money. So what do YOU think? Do you think it's right to encourage children of today to eat junk food?

at the same time as i replaced into in college, junk nutrition replaced into in basic terms left overs from the day before. such issues as krispy kritters or cookies. there replaced right into a merchandising gadget in the cafeteria, notwithstanding it replaced into empty for the most section. youthful ones already have it undesirable sufficient with the dollar menus at quick nutrition joints. between texting technologies and dollar menus, our children are growing to be up slobs without etiquette. I see 20 somethings that I in basic terms wanna slap the mouth off of. Too undesirable moms and dads those days determined now to not attend to their children the way they were dealt with as children. Plus, once you're fortunate sufficient to have 2 moms and dads, they are both operating too demanding to care about making healthful nutrition hoping college will seem after the youngsters for them...

No, that would make them an even bigger accomplace in this travesty. There should be no junk foods whatsover in our schools. That includes any processed foods. They should only serve fresh and organic foods in the schools, with whole grains, etc.

They do - the school division makes deals with the companies - such as pepsi and coke, and probably the chip and candy companies, too.
