Because God is the Creator, this is why you can't give Him the same rationale. Your intelligence is laughable to Him, we humans think we're so smart, lol and we're so small in the big picture of things. Trying to give the Creator of all, (you to by the way) human rationale doesn't work. He is far above all of our intelligence or our reasoning.
He knows all, He sees all, He is all, He has made all, but yet, gives you and I a free will to believe in Him or not. Questioning is always good, but when man gets an attitude and wants to lower God to our standards, this is not pleasing to God.
If you are curious about God, why not read the Psalms? It looks as if you do research on other areas, why not this one? If you consider yourself intelligent, you must look at all sides of the question and then decide, not just on what you think.

GOD Created the Earth and the Star System.
Then, HE gave the Authority to Rule and Reign over it to Mankind.
Adam let the Devil Acquire some Ruling and Reigning too.
Adam and his sons and daughters were suppose to Straighten Out what Satan and his Angels had messed up in the Past.
Adam let the sucker back in.
Jesus is comning back to take over, when the Contract is up.
You see, when Adam ate from the Tree, he Effectively Kicked GOD out of this System.
Yes, GOD is in Complete Control, unless HE gives a Man Control of Certain things, for a Length of Time.
GOD wanted to Work with Adam and help him(and Mankind) to Learn to Rule and Reign.
Adam kicked GOD out.
GOD still wants a Big Family.
If you were the Creator, would not you want to Pow around with Some body (s) else?

Jesus is our example, He was both Man and God.
The divine and the human natures are united in Jesus Christ. This personal union began when He became man (incarnation) and continues forever.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
1 Tim. 3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body.
Col. 2:9 In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.
Is. 9:6 To us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Matt. 28:18 All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
Matt. 28:20 Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Acts 3:15 You killed the author of life.
1 John 1:7 The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, purifies us from every sin.
Acts 20:28 Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood.

God made Adam in his image then made Eve in the female version because man should not be alone.
When Adam fell and received knowledge as a punishment for disobeying God everything changed. There was no death until Adam and Eve were punished in the Garden of Eden (life as they knew it changed and became what we have today); they became aware and felt bad (sin).
Before any of this was created, God knew this was going to happen. Knowing it would, did and when it happened, there would be an opportunity later through Moses, Abraham and Mary's lineage's along with Joesph's too, would bring Jesus to save us and provide us an opportunity through Jesus for forgiveness of sin and everlasting life.
Even John the Baptist's related to Jesus through their mothers. I share this because I am demostrating how God has thought of everything. God's plan made provisions for all. Including our free will.
God is beyond brillant and this is why he only gives each of us our maxium knowledge opportunities and capability of understanding. "All the hairs on our heads our numbered" - meaning we are all unique and God knows this. Part of His plan is our free will and the Holy Spirit participates in some to make His plan unfold.

This idea limits God rather severely.
Its like saying that your car is a tire just because a tire is one component of a car.
God is not a human. God is all that is.
The sum of the physical and non physical universe and much more exists as a part of God.
To call God a human is like saying that you are your little toe.
Love and blessings Don

God, by virtue of being infinite & omni-... is really beyond the most intelligent mind's rationale. Most of what we are told to do, especially by Jesus' teachings, goes against our very human nature.
As He knows all & controls all & is everywhere at once, we should be looking to Him for guidance & provision, instead of trying to do everything ourselves. We have no power to know the future, so we have to base our decisions on obedience to God, knowing that His will is perfect.

God is not made up (at least the Christian God is not), He's quite real; and what he has in mind is different than what humanity has in mind
His ways our higher than ours, his thoughts higher than ours.He sees the past from the present, and the present from the future. We do good just to live in the present.
He knows what human rationale is, and all (or at least majority) is wickedness. God's thinking is much better than any humans thinking.

The "will of God" as you put it, is basically this, in my opinion, "Follow Him, believe in Him, love Him, have faith in Him. He is our savior. Do as God would want you to do."
Humans should not format the "will of God" according to their world, they must format their own world to follow the "will of God".
It's completely up to you, but I might suggest reading "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis. It's thought-provoking and looks at Christinaity without the separation of denominations. I understand and respect you don't believe in God, but I still think you may find the book intriguing.
By respecting that you don't believe in God doesn't mean I'm looking up to you in that way, I just mean I can accept that you believe so. Just making this clear. Anyway, hope all is well,
Kiara

We are not evolved enough to understand the mind of God...
If you want an example of how this can be...
Take a two year old for example, one that has two dimes and you have two nickels .. and you offer to trade your two nickels for his/her two dimes.. nearly EVERY two year old will trade because they do not understand the value of a dime or nickel.. and no matter how many times you explain that a dime is worth more.. they will not accept it in their mind and will still trade...
that is.. until their mind develops enough to understand the abstract value of an object as assigned by governments...
in the same way we cannot understand the ways of God while upon this earth.

i think god is more trouble it is worth.
i don't like anything that puts mankind on his knees.
it is time we took responiblity for our own lives
and help each other.
the bible is all hear say.
did jesus write anything down,
did his disiples.
they could all read the tora, thay could not write.
if their any wisdom it is gone long ago
why dosn't god keep his henchmen in line.
or say directly you are wrong.
he wants the reward but not the responiblity.
the wonderful loving god all wise and knowing
kicked adom & eva out of the garden
after eating from the tree of knowledge
but he did not teach them wisdom to wheeld it
just kicked them out like a pregnant teen.
thanks god we can alway count on you
i really think the devil plays god, and wins either way
like a casino taking your money,
i do not want to play thier game anymore
what did jesus say
" i did not come to bring about world peace,
but a sword, and bla bla bla "
thanks, we really need war
what did he do ,
get him self exicuted and had his mother watch,
he used everyone and judas as a puppet.
he knew he was going to die ,
he wanted to die ,
he planned it ,
.
choose life not death,
what!
jesus didn't .
how can any one truly commit to god with out full knowledge,
the truth will only have meaning when questioned
jesus was not a man if the story is true.
he knew their was a god
he didn't have wife, children a job the responsibility
he got his buddies to abandon thier wives and children
god of broken families yay
