The secret, I would say, is....You treat her like the lady she is, let her know you like her or want to get to know her, give her time to adjust, take it slowly and don't mess her around be a gentleman, don't mess with her head or want her just for sex! Otherwise you might see all that stored anger! lol Oh yes and BE YOURSELF! Women hate fakers, especially when they find out the truth so don't pretend to be rich or a ladies man, just be natural and even if that means shy and sometimes uncomfortable, women like uncomfortable because they can see its natural.

Make yourself look vulnerable in some way. Telling a joke is a good one - and if it's rubbish and she still laughs, then you're pretty much in.
You can do the whole "hopeless male" thing as well, and ask for directions or something - make it look like you need a woman's advice on something. It brings out her maternal instincts, which automatically drops the shield.

okay seriously, just try a relax and talk to her (her eyes not her cleavage) as if she is just a normal person about normal subject matters, that should hopefully make her lower her shields.
The only danger is she may decide to inflict the dreaded curse of "just a friend" on you.

Show her the real person u r and don't b someone ur not! little by little she will drop her shield! it all has to do with Trust! Trust is the hardest thing to gain especially when u have just met someone and if they came out of a bad relationship!
