I have a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge with the extended cab. I'd like to have nice sound but I dont want to risk getting broken into. Does anybody know of a way to install sub woofers under the driver's or passanger's seat? I'd like everything to be hidden from someone on the outside including the amp. has anyone seen this before? any pics?

Any ideas on how to put in a nice sound system without anyone being able to see it on the outside? Must be able to plug into the factory CD player)
thanks

My 87 Ranger has the amp installed inside the glove box. I removed the box and hung the amp with metal hangers; you will need to move some relays to the center and install the amp. I can close and lock the glove box door. Subwoofers (10" X 4) are mounted in tapered boxes behind the seats. (Maybe not the ideal spot but they are hidden.) I also invested in an alarm system to protect my system and GPS.

Assuming a small powered sub like this one, which goes under the front seat, isn't what you're looking for: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2Z8Wi7h8MYM/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=51000&I=113KSCSW1 you're gonna have to buy a custom-fit sub/subs, which go under the rear seat: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2Z8Wi7h8MYM/cgi-bin/prodgroup.asp?g=530&cm_re_o=kwufEzM*l5TDii*5TDNi

And like OldSchool said, if you get the custom-fit subs, you'll want to mount the amp under the front seat. You just remove the seat where you want to mount the amp, then mount the amp, then put the seat back. It's easy to do.

They actually make boxes for woofers for specific cars now. I know it sounds crazy but audio manufactuers actually make boxes to fit behind your seat.. I would mount the amp under the seat..
