When Richard Dawkins spoke of people with faith "running from the teeth of evidence" in the Blind Watchmaker, the gauntlet was thrown down.

People need more faith to try to fit the "teeth of evidence" to match evolution than creation. Science is not, and was never meant to be, an article of faith.

Agreed. but if they don't believe in science as you suggest, they wouldn't go into the scientific questions. They like having ago at pagan religions as well, probably with little or no understanding of what paganism is, as at one time or another they have described all other religions as Pagan. Yes before they shout this is true and it's in christian documents as well. Where's the tolerance which goes with the christian lifestyle?

I could go on for hours, but one last point I discovered in a documentary on the 1st Crusades (11th century), the source being Christian Crusaders writings. During they crusades at one point they destroyed a fortress and slaughtered 20,000 men, women and children. The population was both Muslim & Christians living in harmony. They then cooked and ate some of the bodies. Taking Jerusalem they slaughtered 30,000 men, women, and children, Muslim and Jews.

I have no problems with the Christian Religions, any more than I do with others, in fact I was raised Christian. What I do not like are the hollier than thou bigots who are not prepared to open their eyes that you get in all religions. It is good to have faith, but not to be blinkered.

Well that should get a few comments.

you're accurate that evolution is a medical idea and also you would imagine it would want to slot in a technological expertise type extra constructive. i imagine that both human beings do in basic terms not imagine about it as technological expertise and associate it with God and faith OR they could imagine that in the journey that they positioned it in the religion and Spirituality section they'll obtain diverse critiques than a scientist so that they prefer that diverse comments. P.S. it would want to also be Yahoo's fault in defaulting or suggesting the R&S type.

I suppose they are trying to save your souls.
I think the approach is wrong, but to be admired. It goes for the "voice of one crying in the wilderness" attitude (Matt. 3:3, Mark 1:3, Luke 3:4, John 1:23) rather than the "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you" one (Matt. 7:6).
The verse above is not meant to offend anyone, but to remind people that the apostles had been warned by Jesus Christ Himself about the behaviour of anti-Christian wisecracks.

I think they're trying to convert us. They should know how anoying it is as they constantly complain when I ask questions about the evolution/creation debate and the difference between faith and truth in the religion category.
They don't seem to understand that I am discussing the philosophical and social implications of religion and science rather than attacking them they don't understand that the quest for truth and blind faith are two competely different things, they belive that faith is the truth. (I suppose it saves them from having to join in the search, afterall christians do say that jesus is thier savour.)

You cannot Seperate GOD Almighty from Science.
All that Mankind has ever Learned to do down here, work with Metals, Plastics, Atomic Structures etc., was Given to Man by GOD.
GOD has sent alot of People down here with the Gifts to understand those things. It is in the Bible.
GOD is the Creator, HE knows how all of this Stuff Works.
HE tells us so we can get Blessed.

Because the two are linked in a death struggle for the hearts and minds of people everywhere. Dumb? I think some of them are surely confused, hence the 'dumb' questions, in the wrong categories?

Science and religion are not incompatible.

This idea is from the old rivalry between the christian church and state and ingnores the thousand years of scientific discovery by religious people outside of this particular conflict..

I was scared there, for a second, that I would be sucked into that black hole of questioning. I HATE that much homework! My brain has been saved from meltdown. The alarms have finally ceased. ;)

Because they don't read books for themselves but expect us to give them all the answers. They always want the easy way out "god made everything so don't think". A good way to kill intelligence.
