Did anyone see this match tonight and how impressed were you with Mikkel Kessler? I mean, he was obviously a favorite to win this, but to completely dominate a fighter like Markus Beyer and knock him out within 3 rounds in such awesome fashion is really beyond incredible. Now he will most likely have a match with Joe Calzaghe in sight to determine who the true and undisputed super middleweight champion of the world is and this, if it does happen that is, will really be the match of all matches. What do you think?

DEVASTATING!! This guy got some power and some skills. I'll never laugh at a danish fella wearing wooden shoes again. I mean he looked like he was fighting an amateur with only 4 fights, that's how superior he was to Markus.

I agree however, with mra, Cale was very specific when he said post-fight that he wants Hopkins (very B-Hop focused) to prove who is the best. Hopkins should be flattered, even with the losses to Taylor, Calle is giving him respect as still the "great one" the one he needs to define his own career. If Hopkins does fight Calle I think he'll have the same problem he had with Taylor, Calle is so active, always throwing punches, he'd win a UD over the Executioner. Just my opinion. Thus a Calle v Kessler fight is off in the far distance for now. Would be a great fight I may have to give the nod to Kessler believe it or not.

But back to the Beyer annihilation, I think the stoppage of the Bika vs Beyer fight was total highway robbery. The ref stops the fight after Beyer's corner complained ferociously. So he did stop it and Bika (who lost tonite to Callefornia oops I mean Callezaghe) was winning the fight outright and should have gone on to take the title from Beyer. Still Kessler is a force to reckon with, if he ever decides to fight outside of his Danish home crowd. Good question. Thanks

Yes Mikkel Kessler cemented himself in number one contender status to Calzaghe's title. It was an impressive knockout but I have to question Beyer's heart as not only did he not give an honest attempt to get to his feet against Kessler but he robbed former opponent Bika by having his fight stopped in the 4th round for a head butt which the referee ruled was not above the eye and should not have stopped the fight. That fight was ruled a technical draw but had things been on the up and up Beyer should have continued or given up his title.

I think that Calzaghe is looking for a big American fight with Hopkins, Taylor or Wright and I don't think the Kessler/Calzaghe fight will come about for at least 3 years. This may be for the best though as each fighter will grow in fame and stature so it will be like a De La Hoya/Hopkins Superfight.

i'm hoping this occurs, the two are coming off of massive wins, however Froch better than Kessler i could say. Kessler gained over Froch final time, notwithstanding it become in Denmark. individually i think of that it quite is anybodies combat, it ought to all boil right down to area, if the combat is in Britain Froch wins, whether it quite is in Denmark Kessler wins. the two have sturdy chins so i think of that it is going to a determination the two way. This one quite ought to pass the two way, after Froch's dominant breaking down of a youthful, undefeated champion i think of he might have that little bit better interior the tank and take an intensive determination over Kessler in a hoop conflict.

Kessler was always a strong favorite. He rose up the ranks so quickly. Anyone who rises as fast as him would create an instant classic when it comes to a title shot against a ruthless champion
