An silent auction or raffle is always good. If you have people donate things from the community. You could get dinners for two, flower arrangments, certificates for haircuts or manicures. It's amazing what people will donate when it's for a good cause. Also a chili or barbeque dinner(I'm from Texas, this is what we do) works well. Good luck!

I am the leader of a girl's group at our church and we do fund raising for church and community projects. We are a small church and group, you didn't say how big your group, organization was, but you could try doing a dinner theater, talent show, car show, car wash just to name a few. Of course with all of them sell some kind of food (of course you already serving a meal at the dinner theater), like at the car show and car wash sell hamburgers, hot dogs & drinks. At the talent show you could do desserts or better yet do a 50's talent show and the servers dress up in poodle skirts (girls) & jeans with their shirt sleeves rolled way up (guys). You can have alot of fun in whatever you do. You can also sell orders for Krispy Kreme doughnuts, you get to keep half the profits!! For the dinner theater choose a theme you will use, like 60's & 70's music and act out the songs. You don't have to do the singing, just act out the songs. Panomine the songs. The options are endless!!! Whatever you do, enlist the help of others. People like to help, but sometimes won't offer, but ask and they'll normally jump at the chance! Good luck and I hope everything works out!!!

Get the handicapped kids to play a ball game on a public field and charge admission. Having the kids there would show the need and the use of such a field. You'd have to arrainge it with the parks commision.

Have a garage sale. Ask as many people as possible to donate items. Advertise it as a multi-family yard sale. If you get enough items, you could run it a couple of days. You could also sell baked good and/or have a car wash for customers while they are shopping.

Note that some groups sell some pretty crazy things on eBay for charity!

First of all you gotta figure out who could give you the money, If you are building this part in a big city go big businesses. Be prepared be professional they wont fess up any money unless you can prove you are legit. like big grocery chains( go to the head office) car dealerships, offer to name the park after them. or section of it at least, price point it 10k gets you put your name on team jerseys once the team compete.

if that does not work out, or does not seem viable, then opt out rich educated individuals try universities professors, doctors, ppl who could afford to give. large sums big businessmen. large churches,

if that does not work out then resort to approaching everyday joe
but again you and me could probably only cough a max of 200 bucks that's it. It will take forever.....I know pennies add up. but it is still easier to count 100 dollar bills.

Our group volunteers for a local pro/semi-pro sporting event. We drive shuttles and the company handling the event pays the group as a fund raiser. It is fun. It pays well. We get into the event for free.

There are other groups that sell tickets, programs and run the gates. They all raise money for their own cause.

Check out your local football games, golf matches, racing, baseball, fairgrounds ....

There are fund raising companies such as selling cookie dough where you make about a 35% profit which requires no upfront money. You get the paperwork and sell the product and then place the order and collect the money. They invoice you and once you collect the money you pay them.

Raffels, call local Business to have them donate goodies
Auctions are popular too, have a silent auction where they have to write down their bid
Have a mini marathon with the money pledged to the runners going to the ball park
Garage Sales/Yard sales

Fund raising companies can sell you those gift books that have local retailer discounts in them. Aside from the local car washes, selling candy, and bake sales.
